چکیده

Considering the theoretical hardness of SAT, the astonishing adeptness of SAT solvers when attacking practical problems has changed the way we perceive the limits of algorithmic reasoning. Modern SAT solvers are based on the idea of conflict driven clause learning (CDCL). The CDCL algorithm is a combination of an explicit backtracking search for a satisfying assignment complemented with a deduction system based on Boolean resolution. In this combination, the worst-case complexity of both components is circumvented by the components guiding and focusing each other. In this talk, we describe new procedures for nonlinear real arithmetic and linear integer arithmetic based on the CDCL algorithm. These procedures perform a backtracking search for a model, where the backtracking is powered by a novel conflict resolution procedure. Our approach takes advantage of the fact that each conflict encountered during the search is based on the current assignment and generally involves only a few constraints, a conflicting core. When in conflict, we project only the constraints from the conflicting core and explain the conflict in terms of the current model. The conflict resolution provides the usual benefits of a CDCL-style search engine, such as non-chronological backtracking and the ability to ignore irrelevant parts of the search space. The procedures described in the talk are instances of the model-constructing satisfiability calculus proposed by the authors. 2013 15th International Symposium on Symbolic and Numeric Algorithms for Scientific Computing 978-1-4799-3035-7/14 $31.00 © 2014 IEEE DOI 10.1109/SYNASC.2013.84 11

A Model-Driven Decision Support System for Software Cost Estimation (Case Study: Projects in NASA60 Dataset)

Estimating the costs of software development is one of the most important activities in software project management. Inaccuracies in such estimates may cause irreparable loss. A low estimate of the cost of projects will result in failure on delivery on time and indicates the inefficiency of the software development team. On the other hand, high estimates of resources and costs for a project wil...

Arithmetic Aggregation Operators for Interval-valued Intuitionistic Linguistic Variables and Application to Multi-attribute Group Decision Making

The intuitionistic linguistic set (ILS) is an extension of linguisitc variable. To overcome the drawback of using single real number to represent membership degree and non-membership degree for ILS, the concept of interval-valued intuitionistic linguistic set (IVILS) is introduced through representing the membership degree and non-membership degree with intervals for ILS in this paper. The oper...

Enhancing Learning from Imbalanced Classes via Data Preprocessing: A Data-Driven Application in Metabolomics Data Mining

This paper presents a data mining application in metabolomics. It aims at building an enhanced machine learning classifier that can be used for diagnosing cachexia syndrome and identifying its involved biomarkers. To achieve this goal, a data-driven analysis is carried out using a public dataset consisting of 1H-NMR metabolite profile. This dataset suffers from the problem of imbalanced classes...

Deciding Bit-Vector Formulas with mcSAT

The Model-Constructing Satisfiability Calculus (mcSAT) is a recently proposed generalization of propositional DPLL/CDCL for reasoning modulo theories. In contrast to most DPLL(T)-based SMT solvers, which carry out conflict-driven learning only on the propositional level, mcSAT calculi can also synthesise new theory literals during learning, resulting in a simple yet very flexible framework for ...

An Instantiation-Based Approach for Solving Quantified Linear Arithmetic

This paper presents a framework to derive instantiation-based decision procedures for satisfiability of quantified formulas in first-order theories, including its correctness, implementation, and evaluation. Using this framework we derive decision procedures for linear real arithmetic (LRA) and linear integer arithmetic (LIA) formulas with one quantifier alternation. Our procedure can be integr...
